We have seen a huge movement toward swapping out standard merchandise for more sustainable products. Why is this so important?? Well from what we can see so many of our companies are global companies, and all have Social Responsibility Policies in place, which l understand all are created at a global level, but this is a great way to use sustainable branded merchandise to help build and support that message.
Years ago, eco branded merchandise was quite expensive but honestly, it is the same, we can pretty much match everything from normal to eco-products today.
I understand the word “Sustainable ‘is quite a vague word and it's quite a grey area however at the end of the day as long we are doing something to help support the planet l think it’s a great starting point.
I have put a few items and suggestions below that l think are my top picks.
2022 Sustainable Picks
CLOTHING
When you start looking at stats that say 52% of people want the fashion industry to become more sustainable, we need to follow that trend as well. One of the easiest ways to do this is to look at clothing that is RPET which means the garment is made from recycled plastic bottles, such an amazing way to recycle plastics. You will find RPET range growing, and now you can get things like RPET Caps, Lanyards, T-shirts, Hoodies and even umbrellas.
TECH ACCESSORIES
So again we look at the traditional products like Power banks, Wireless Chargers, and USBs which all can now be sourced from Wheat or Bamboo! We can also do a full-colour print on most of them.
DESK ITEMS
Notebooks now come in a huge range, we start with notebooks that are recycled and Australian made to create more ways of reusing materials like Bamboo, Cork Wheat and also things like Recycled Coffee Granules and here is another great idea!! We can even create notebooks made out of seed paper where you can write and plant after!! We are starting to see some really creative ways of recycling and rightly now, so now we are going from a standard notebook to a product that also can be a novelty with purpose! Never underestimate what a notebook can do. You can even create tag links like plant your dreams and future plans here! Why not!
DRINKWARE
Again l understand this is a very grey area as you could go as far to say if you use a drink bottle twice is sustainable! So we want to try and look at products that we can really use again and again here and especially as we all head back to the office we are finding everyone really wanting to use their own mugs and drink bottles. So l think we just want to look at more products that have a longer life, so things like Vacuum bottles are great, we can get Wheat coffee mugs no problem and there are some drink bottles out there made of sugar cane which is a great alternative to plastic!
We really want to challenge you in the way we look at branded merchandise and always know there will be an alternative to plastic out there! At the end of the day, we want our brands to shine and stand out and send a message to their staff, current and future clients on what they stand for and just simple changes like swapping to Eco products is an easy way to do this.
